Celebrating the upcoming LP reissues from the Peter Green-eraFleetwood Mac, here’s a great piece from the U.K.’s Classic Rock magazine, & a reminder of the guitarist’s crucial role in the band’s history.
Seymour Stein, also the founder of the legendary Sire Records, is spearheading the relaunch of Blue Horizon in partnership with Fat Possum.
Both Seymour and Matthew Johnson from Fat Possum had some fun things to say about the new working relationship:
Seymour Stein said, “I have long been aware of Matthew Johnson and Fat Possum, all the more so following my daughter Mandy Stein’s documentary You See Me Laughin’ on the label back in its early days. I have enjoyed watching Fat Possum grow into the great and well-respected label it is today. I am excited looking forward for our two labels to work together and bring this fabulous music into the marketplace.”
Johnson added, “Seymour’s great. He’s one of the three or four people on the business side that are fun to talk to. He’s left places I’ll never get to… It’s a real honor to work with him and Blue Horizon.”
With the relaunch of Blue Horizon Records comes new vinyl pressings of albums from the legendary Fleetwood Mac – their self-titled debut (aka Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac), Mr. Wonderful and the compilation ‘The Pious Bird of Good Omen.’ All three LPs will be released February 26, and are available now for pre-order.
